The current MotoGP champion returns to action at the Valencian circuit, where he has ridden the Ducati Panigale V2S alongside other World Championship riders
Guadassuar (Valencia), 9 January 2026 – Almost 100 days after his injury at the Indonesian Grand Prix, Marc Márquez has returned to the track at the Aspar Circuit in Guadassuar. The Valencian circuit has been the place chosen by the nine-time world champion to carry out two intense days of private training.
During these sessions, Márquez has ridden his Ducati Panigale V2S and has been directly supervised by Davide Tardozzi, Team Manager of Ducati Lenovo, who has accompanied Marc on his return to the track.
Alongside Márquez, other top-level riders have also participated in these training sessions, including his brother Álex Márquez, as well as Maverick Viñales, Fermín Aldeguer, Michele Pirro, David Alonso, Dani Holgado, Iván Ortolà, Máximo Quiles, Tony Arbolino and Ángel Piqueras.
The two days of training have allowed the Spanish rider to get back on the asphalt alongside other big names in world motorcycling. This return marks Marc Márquez’s first step in his preparation for the 2026 season, with the aim of arriving in the best possible shape for the upcoming official pre-season tests in Sepang.
The favourite track for MotoGP riders
One of the key reasons riders choose Aspar Circuit is that it allows them to train different disciplines at a top level within the same facility. The venue features four tracks: a main circuit for big bikes, a karting circuit for smaller bikes, a flat track, and a technical track.
The main circuit —the one most used by World Championship riders— is 2,200 meters long, between 10 and 12 meters wide, and features 20 corners (10 left and 10 right). This makes it a very technical and physically demanding. Although it is shorter than the circuits on the World Championship, it is considerably longer than a conventional karting track, allowing riders to work on pace, racing lines, and feelings ahead of the season.
Another relevant factor is the location. The circuit is based in Guadassuar (Valencia), an area where the weather allows riders to train consistently throughout most of the year, ensuring continuity in their preparation.
Jorge Martínez “Aspar”, Aspar Circuit CEO: “For the Aspar Circuit, and for me personally, it is a real privilege to have MotoGP riders training at our facilities. Seeing the number of riders who have come and keep coming to train here is really satisfying. They all agree that our main track is very technical and physical, and that sets it apart from other circuits. Training here during the preseason allows the riders to prepare in the best possible way for the year ahead.”
